In honor of World Leprosy Day, Believers Church Chennai Diocese sent a team of staff and Minor Seminary students to a leprosy hospital on 30th January 2013. They visited with the patients, prayed for them and distributed fruits, health drinks and biscuits.
“I am so happy that you all are coming and visiting us,” said 65-year-old Abthul. This man came to the hospital at age seven due to leprosy, and had been there ever since. None of his family ever came to meet him. “Please come and visit me and think of me as one your family,” he said.
The chief doctor, Shakainta, and other staff also thanked Believers Church for coming.
This was just one of many World Leprosy Day programs arranged by the church to uplift the suffering.
