This month, the Women’s Fellowship Department in the Diocese of Colombo organized a two-day seminar for the wives of priests, drawing 24 participants. The event aimed to provide spiritual enrichment, practical skills, and a sense of community among the attendees.
The first day featured sessions on various aspects of a priest’s wife’s life, including family responsibilities, personal spiritual growth, church duties, and child-rearing. Each speaker shared valuable insights and experiences, encouraging the participants to embrace their roles with dedication and love. The importance of confession, self-examination, and self-reflection was also discussed, highlighting their significance in spiritual growth.
The second day began with a cookery class on making Nasi Goreng Rice, adding a practical and interactive element to the seminar. This session provided the participants with an opportunity to learn a new dish and bond over a shared activity. Following the cookery class, a session on the importance of confession reinforced the teachings from the previous day.
The seminar concluded with a Thanksgiving and Prayer session, where participants reflected on their learnings and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to attend. The event was a meaningful and spiritually enriching experience, offering guidance, fellowship, and encouragement to all who participated. It was truly a blessing for everyone involved, motivating them to fulfill their roles with renewed faith and commitment.
