On 31st May 2014, World No Tobacco Day, Women’s Fellowship members of the Diocese of Delhi conducted an awareness program for slum dwellers. Sixty-five people, including students, attended the program.
The main objective of the program was to raise awareness about the ill effects of tobacco consumption. The team performed skits and played videos to raise the awareness.
“I did not know tobacco consumption leads to cancer,” said a man named Mahesh, “I will try to stop using it.”
Through awareness programs and rallies Believers Church reached thousands of people and educated them against tobacco consumption on this World No Tobacco Day.
