On March 8, 2025, in celebration of International Women’s Day, a Women’s Fellowship team from the Diocese of Birtamod visited a home for specially-abled children.
The team spent quality time with the children, cutting and distributing cake to bring joy to their day.
Demonstrating the spirit of giving, the Women’s Fellowship team, along with the Sisters of the Cross, donated dry rations and essential supplies to the home to support the children’s needs. The donations included 20 kg of rice, 2 kg of dal, 2 liters of sunflower oil, 2 kg of salt, a dozen bars of bathing soap, 1 kg of surf powder, 3 dozen packets of biscuits, 3 kg of beaten rice, and 2 dozen diapers. Additionally, they provided clothing for nine children and served a wholesome meal, ensuring that the children experienced not just physical nourishment but also the warmth of care and compassion.
Mrs. Niramala Ojha, the chairperson and caretaker of the home, was overwhelmed with gratitude. She expressed her heartfelt appreciation to the church, saying, “Thank you for coming and showing us compassion. Your kindness and support mean the world to these children.”
This visit not only provided essential aid but also brought comfort, joy, and a sense of belonging to these children, reaffirming the church’s commitment to being a beacon of hope and care in the community.
