Women’s Fellowship Conducts Health Awareness Program in Dhemaji Diocese

On 9th April, Women’s Fellowship Dhemaji Diocese held a health awareness program. Twenty-five women attended the program. Sis. Toramai talked to the women about health care and general diseases.

Sis. Jummoni, who got married at the age of 14 and is now the mother of a 6-month-old child, expressed her gratitude and said, “Because of my early marriage and ignorance about how to take care of myself during the pregnancy, I always get sick and giddy. I never visited a doctor and was completely unaware about the importance of regular checkups during pregnancy.

“I learned a lot of things regarding health care from this program,” Jummoni continued; “for my next pregnancy I will be careful based upon the instructions I received.” She also took the challenge to speak to other women in the village about healthcare awareness.
