Widows Receive Saris During Gandhi Jayanthi Celebrations in Tezpur

On 2nd October 2014, Believers Church Tezpur distributed saris to widows during Gandhi Jayanthi celebrations. 150 people attended the program and 40 widows received sari during it.

Shri. Prafulla Kumar Mahanta (Former Chief Minister, Assam) was the chief guest and he distributed saris to the widows. He appreciated the church for taking such initiatives to help the poor and neglected people in our society.

All the widows were so happy and received their gift with great pleasure. “My son is working hard to meet the needs of our family and affording a new sari for me was not at all possible with his little income,” said Maloti, a beneficiary. “But thank you so much for gifting me a sari for after a long time I am receiving a new sari.”
