The Diocese of Chandigarh distributed income-generating gifts on 4th July 2014 in honor of International Widows Day. Altogether, 67 widows benefited from the program, receiving gifts like buffaloes, sewing machines and items to start provision shops and clothes shops.
Shri Munawar Masih (Chairman of State Minority Commission) was the chief guest of the program. In his short speech he appreciated the work of the church toward mankind.
Sis. Soma, a widow, said, “I have seven members in my family. I have been struggling to earn a living for my family. But through Believers Church, I have received a sewing machine, for which I am very thankful to the church and its leaders. I will use this gift to help myself and my family.”
This is just one of that ways that Believers Church works among widows, orphans, leprosy patients and beggars to improve the quality of their lives.
