Week of Prayer for Christian Unity Observed at St. Thomas Believers Eastern Church Cathedral

Under the aegis of Kerala Council of Churches, the “Week of prayer for Christian Unity” was held at St. Thomas Believers Eastern Church Cathedral, Thiruvalla on 23 January 2019.

Along with the St. Thomas Community, members of various parishes in the vicinity came together and prayed for Christian unity and reflected together on this year’s theme “They showed us unusual kindness.”(Acts 28:2).

Bishop Rt. Rev. Thomas Samuel, Bishop Emeritus of CSI Madhya Kerala Diocese delivered keynote address at the service. “We are on an ecumenical journey towards unity”. “We should be able to spread light and show kindness to others”, he said.

The presidential address was delivered by H.G. Mathew Mor Silvanus Episcopa and H.G. Geevarghese Mar Coorilos Metropolitan (Metropolitan of Malankara Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church, Niranam Diocese and former president of KCC), gave a short exhortation. Various office bearers of Kerala Council of Churches also spoke on the occasion.
