Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Pokhara held a warm cloth distribution in a Himalayan village on 25 February 2021.
This village located in Dhaulagiri mountain range (3,900 meters above sea level) in the Himalayas grows extremely cold from September and the winter lasts till April. Each year, normal life gets extremely difficult with the freezing cold in the area. This year, the water streams and rivulets were frozen owing to the chilly weather of the region and schools had to be shut down.
The team from the diocese visited this village and distributed jackets to 100 children studying in the English medium school run by Believers Eastern Church. They also distributed warm cloths to 67 villagers in order to keep these families warm through the harsh Nepali winter.
Every winter, hundreds of people in Nepal die from exposure, due to lack of warm clothing and insulation in their homes. To combat the situation, Believers Eastern Church Nepal each year distributes blankets and warm clothes to hundreds of poor families, thus ensuring that they stay warm and protected from the harsh effects of winter.
