A new water tank was inaugurated by Believers Church Sikkim on the 26th of July.
The village was facing a water crisis for a long time. Villagers had to buy water for domestic use especially during winter season. Even though there was a natural water source almost half a kilometer away, it was not sufficient for them.
Seeing the necessity of a water tank that could store water to be used whenever needed, Believers Church installed a new water tank in the village.
Mr. Noel Yonzone (Police Inspector), chief guest of the program, appreciated the work of Believers Church and extended his heartfelt thanks on behalf of all the villagers. The villagers are extremely happy to have a good water tank in their village.
Tshering, one of the beneficiaries, said that the water tank was a boon to this village, for they were facing an extreme water crisis. Now they can collect water from the tank at any time or they can connect a pipeline from the tank to their house.
Twelve families benefit from this water tank. This is one of many initiatives Believers Church has taken to provide water for undeveloped communities.
