Villagers No Longer Dread Drinking Water

Believers Church Dhemaji Diocese distributed BioSand water filters to a struggling community on 27th February 2013. Their water smelled so bad that some people hesitated to drink it. But they had no choice.

Ranjan, leader of the Dhemaji BioSand Department, demonstrated how the filters make water safe to drink.

“The water that we use is filled with arsenic,” said a villager named Rupawati, “but we are not able to afford to buy a filter, as our income is very less. Today, free of cost, I received a filter for my family and so I am so much thankful.”

Thousands of people receive BioSand water filters through Believers Church’s safe water project every year.
