On 15th August 2012, the Sunday School Department of Believers Church Nagpur Diocese conducted a tree planting program. The program was designed both to involve children in social activities and to contribute to the nation’s well-being in honor of Independence Day.
The Diocese-wide program was executed through local church Sunday schools. Sachin, a Believers Church staff member, organized the activities under the guidance of Rev Fr. Roy (Vicar General) and Rev. Fr. Uday (Synod Secretariat Sunday School Director).
The Sunday school children planted trees in various places including gram panchayat premises, police stations, government hospitals and schools.
The villagers and community members were encouraged by the sight of local Sunday school children planting trees throughout the area. In another location, the gram panchayat leader expressed his appreciation for Believers Church’s contribution to nature.
Believers Church knows the importance of a healthy environment and has planted thousands of trees in different areas of South Asia.
