In response to the devastating floods that have gripped Vijayawada since 1 September 2024, Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Vijayawada remains steadfast in its relief efforts, embodying the love of Christ through compassionate action.
On 5 September 2024, a dedicated relief team from the diocese, including the Diocesan Vicar, Provincial Vicars, and diocesan team members, visited some of the hardest-hit areas, including Ajit Singh Nagar and the streets of Sun City Colony, where floodwaters have risen to approximately four feet. Despite the challenging conditions, the team distributed essential supplies such as bread packets, drinking water, and fruits to around 500 households, bringing much-needed aid to those in dire need.
The relief efforts were met with enthusiastic support from local residents, and the AP Octopus Force also joined hands with the church to ensure the safe distribution of these vital resources to families struggling in the flooded areas.
Through these ongoing initiatives, the Vijayawada Diocese continues to bring hope and tangible relief to the suffering, reflecting Christ’s love in action during this time of crisis.
