Believers Church Patna Diocese organized a community development program on the 16th of July for the victims of a massive fire.
In the month of May a devastating fire broke out in three villages. It left four people dead and a thousand huts destroyed.
Believers Church decided to help those who had lost all their belongings in the fire. Altogether 60 deprived families were gifted with 53 sets of household items, two bicycles and five sewing machines.
Bishop M.A. Lalachan was the chief guest on the occasion. Citing an example from the Bible, the Bishop said, “If there is a poor man with you, one of your brothers, in any of your towns in your land which the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart, nor close your hand from your poor brother: but you shall freely open your hand to him and shall generously lend him sufficient for his need in whatever he lacks.” He also expressed his gratitude towards our beloved Metropolitan Dr. K. P .Yohannan for initiating the community development project.
Shri Bisheswar Das (village head) was the guest of honor. He appreciated Believers Church and expressed his gratitude for making a deliberate choice to care for the poor and neediest villagers.
Believers Church helps thousands of people each year to escape the cycle of poverty through income-generating gifts.
