Undeveloped Village Receives Pure Water Source

Believers Church Agartala Diocese distributed free BioSand water filters in a local village on 1st October 2012.

Puniram (head of Believers Church’s BioSand filter project in Tripura) identified this village during a survey in Khumulwng district.

The villagers had been struggling for years because they did not have access to a clean water source. Many men, women and children were victims of disease due to the unclean water. With these things in consideration, Believers Church took initiative to distribute water filters to the community members.

The distribution program took place under the leadership of Pastor Sybal, Puniram and his team.  Rev. Fr. Sadhan and the village chairman were special guests of the occasion.

30 underprivileged families received free filters. One recipient, Mrs. Sayarani Debbarma, said, “On behalf of all the beneficiaries I would like to extend our grateful thanks to Believers Church and the leaders who had provided us this BioSand water filter for drinking pure and clean water. We would assure that we will use these filters for the better drinking of pure water. We will ever remain grateful for the good acts that you had shown towards us and for the benefit for our village.”

Hundreds of communities throughout South Asia have benefited greatly through BioSand filters given by Believers Church. The church believes that pure water is a key component of the health and well-being of any village, city or nation.
