On 15th October, Global Hand Washing Day, Believers Church Udaipur Diocese took the initiative to raise awareness about the importance of washing hands through several programs. The local Bridge of Hope center, along with the Sunday School and Women’s Fellowship Departments of Believers Church took an active role in arranging the events.
Special guest Dr. Amit Mehta visited a Bridge of Hope center to talk about proper hand washing, explaining the subject well from a medical point of view. A video about hand washing, prepared by Dr. Daniel Johnson, was also shown to the children.
Hygienic supplies such as bathing and washing soaps were distributed to each child by Dr. Amit Mehta. There was also a practical demonstration of proper hand washing and a skit that showed the need to wash hands. Everyone who came watched curiously and learned about this life-saving practice.
Members of the Sunday School and Women’s Fellowship Departments visited a church in the village of Deval Kamadi to teach about hand washing. They used various means to communicate this, including the video and a live demonstration. It was an eye-opening program for those who attended.
The main purpose of this program was to enlighten and educate the people on how lives can be saved by washing hands with soap.
