A team from Believers Church Udaipur Diocese visited Sahyog Kushtha Yagna Trust on 31st January 2013 in honor of World Leprosy Day. This award-winning organization serves leprosy patients and mentally challenged people from all over India.
A Women’s Fellowship team and Sisters of Compassion went around visiting patients in the campus’s homes and hospital. They tenderly spoke with the leprosy patients, gave them snacks and clothes and prayed for them. Many of the people did not have legs, hands, fingers or eyes. Others were bedridden. Patients pressed their hands together in thanks to the team, some with tears.
The Believers Church team gave care and attention to each of the 662 leprosy patients on campus.
“Thank you very much for sharing your loving heart to my people here,” said 70-year-old Shri Suresh Soni, founder of the institution. “There is nothing I can give in return to what you have done today. I always respect Lord Jesus, because He touched a leper in His time where no one was willing to do that and healed the leper by His Almighty Power.” Shri Suresh explained that he walks in the path of Mahatma Gandhi, who was also motivated by Jesus’s teachings and actions.
Believers Church yearly offers comfort and care to the suffering on World Leprosy Day.
