Believers Church Dhemaji Diocese organized a community development program on the 24th of October.
In this particular village the people used a tube well for their water source. This water was contaminated and filled with arsenic. It could not be used for drinking without being filtered. Most people used a filter made of mustard oil tin, but even after filtering through this the water still smelled.
Realizing their need for new filters that really purify the water Believers Church determined to distribute BioSand water filters. Thirty water filters were distributed to the villagers.
Sitarani said, “I use a filter made of mustard oil tin, but it gets damaged very soon. From today my family will use water which is clean and will keep us safe from sickness and I am glad for that.”
Raju said, “I am a farmer and not able to buy an expensive filter and so I am glad to receive this filter which is very useful.”
Believers Church improves the quality of water in thousands of households by distributing BioSand water filters free of cost to the poor and needy.
