Believers Church Dhemaji Diocese distributed 30 BioSand water filters in a village on 22nd November. The main source of water here was a hand pump that produced water contaminated with arsenic. The villagers used mustard oil tins to filter the water, but the water was still not clean. Every house in the village had this problem since no one could afford a standard filter.
After conducting a survey which showed a great need, Believers Church decided to distribute BioSand filters to the people. The local people were amazed when they saw how the BioSand filter produced clean water. Each family was touched and grateful when they received a filter.
“This filter will make a great change in our lives,” said Mr. Prama, a local farmer. “I am glad that my children will be healthy and drink more water.”
Believers Church provides thousands of BioSand water filters each year to people in need.
