The Holy Sacrament of Ordination to the Diaconate: Diocese of Kathmandu Ordains 25 New Deacons

Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Kathmandu, Nepal conducted the holy sacrament of ordination to the diaconate on 7 June 2022.

A total of 25 candidates representing five Dioceses of Nepal – Pokhara, Kathmandu, Kohalpur, Sagarmatha Mission Province, and Birtamod were ordained to the sacred order of the diaconate on this day.

H.G Titus Mor Osthathiose Episcopa was the main celebrant and homilist at the ordination. Following the homily, the ordinands affirmed their pledges to serve the Lord and the Holy Church and proclaimed their promise to discharge the office of deacon with humility and love.

During the sacred ceremony, H.G. Titus Mor Osthathiose Episcopa ordained the ordinands through the laying on of hands and prayed the prayer of the ordination.

The ceremony ended with a prayer of thanksgiving and benediction by H.G. Titus Mor Osthathiose Episcopa.

Newly-ordained deacon Samar Wagle said, “I feel honored that the church has bestowed this great responsibility on me. I promise to live a life worthy of the high calling.”
