Thankful for Tank Full of Water

Believers Church Siliguri inaugurated a water tank in Bhaisitar Barboita on 23rd December 2012. Most of the locals work for the Cinchona Plantation, which grows medicinal herbs.

Bhaisitar Barboita had an acute shortage of water, despite the plantation’s attempts to help. Water was especially scarce during the dry season as the village lacked good facilities for water storage. Believers Church saw how hard this was on the villagers and erected a water tank.

Mrs. Kamala Rai, a school teacher, was chief guest of the tank’s inauguration. While addressing the villagers, she praised the social action of Believers Church. She also spoke of the church’s good influence on local children through Sunday school, helping the kids to grow mentally, emotionally and morally.

The villagers were happy to get their own water tank and promised to care for it well.
