Ten sisters were inducted into the Order of Sisters of Compassion during a solemn service held at St. John’s Believers Eastern Church on 9 May 2023.
H.G. Martin Mor Aprem Episcopa, the diocesan bishop of Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Ananad, officiated the dedication service.
During the ceremony, the sisters took an oath and declared before the Episcopa and Holy Church that they would serve God and humanity unconditionally. And they also declared that they would remain faithful and obedient to God, the Church, and her leadership.
H.G. Martin Mor Aprem Episcopa received the signed oath from the sisters and presented each of them with a cross, as a symbol of their servanthood, love, sacrifice, and unconditional service to all.
The dedication service ended with the celebration of the Eucharist. It was a blessed experience for the faithful to witness the dedication service. Many of the parents of the sisters were thankful to God and the Church for giving their daughters this privilege to serve the Lord and humanity.
These sisters have completed their one year of training, and soon they will be going out to serve the poor in leprosy colonies, slums, and also work among street children and widows.
