A well was installed by Believers Church in a tea estate in Jorhat Diocese and inaugurated on 6th February 2012 for the welfare of the inhabitants. Around 40 people gathered to see the inauguration of the well.
In his speech, Rev. Fr. Sibu (Jorhat Vicar General) spoke about Believers Church’s concern for the people of the tea estate. A villager named Samuel said, “This bore well is going to be a great blessing and help for us.” He explained that previously they had to wait a long time to collect water and really struggled to get sufficient water for their daily needs. Previously there had been only a slow stream of water coming through a pipe in the tea estate and many people depended on it for survival. The community said, “Our problem with getting water will not exist any longer because Believers Church has provided a nice well in the tea estate. At any time people can come and get as much water as they need.”
This community is one of thousands that benefits every from wells installed by Believers Church.
