On International Literacy Day 2013, observed on 8th September, a group of 50 Sunday school children from Believers Church Patna Diocese raised awareness about the importance of education. Their parents came for a program and watched them perform action songs about the value of going to school. Rev. Fr. Chhotelal spoke about the need for education in four areas – secular, spiritual, physical and social.
After the program, the children and their parents participated in a literacy rally – the first of its kind in the locality. They marched through nearby villages to raise awareness.
Believers Church works throughout the year to increase literacy rates through its Adult Literacy project.
