Students Raise AIDS Awareness in Kolkata Diocese
December 1, 2010On 1st December 2010, Believers Church Kolkata Diocese recognized World AIDS Day. Three local Bridge of Hope centers joined together with Minor Seminary students and staff for a large rally.
The participants raised awareness from the Kolkata Diocesan office to Madhyamgram Chowmatha. They distributed brochures on AIDS and also played a video promoting AIDS awareness.
Rt. Rev. P.S. Thomas, Rev. Fr. Ponnachan (Vicar General) and Dr. Debraj Ray took part in the program. Bishop P.S. Thomas spoke about AIDS day and the role Believers Church is playing in society.
Dr. Debraj explained briefly about AIDS and stated how to prevent it. He appreciated Believers Church for holding this kind of program.
Believers Church organized many World AIDS Day programs throughout South Asia in an attempt to educate people about how to protect their health.
