Believers Church Minor Seminary in Sikkim conducted social work in a footpath on 13th October 2012. Seminary staff and students worked together to clean the public footpath.
This particular footpath is unattended and has become a dumping place for the public. It was covered with weeds, foliage, rubbish, alcohol bottles and human and animal excrement.
The seminary team cleaned the path of all waste and trash.
The purpose of this social action was to raise health and hygiene awareness among the community. Many people who came across the team were curious about how and why they were cleaning such a filthy footpath.
Many locals thought the seminary team members belonged to a government agency. When they realized that the workers were students, the people readily praised the team for carrying out such social action.
Believers Church is involved in various types of social work in nations throughout South Asia. The church works to improve both the environment and lifestyle of communities.
