A group of young volunteers from St Thomas Community in Kerala, India is putting their sewing skills to good use, by making face masks which are crucial now in the battle against COVID-19.
The three-ply cloth masks are being produced under strict safety and sanitized conditions. The group has stitched around 2,900 face masks, as of 20 April.
Similarly a stitching unit at St Thomas Community has stitched another 15,000 masks which have been supplied to Believers Church Medical College Hospital, for doctors, nurses and patients.
As confirmed cases of COVID-19 continue to rise in India, it has become mandatory that everyone wear a cloth mask when they go out in public.
