This month, St. Paul’s Believers Eastern Church Cathedral in Jhapa, Nepal, held a special social program aimed at improving waste management in the community. During the event, the cathedral distributed 50 dustbins to members of Om Shanti Tole Bikash Sastha, a local community group.
Speaking at the event, Mrs. Dropati Ganesh, Vice President of Om Shanti Tole Bikash Sastha, expressed her gratitude, stating, “We are fortunate to have the church in our community. We have seen and heard how the church is doing good work for society and the country in various ways, which is a very commendable and estimable act.”
Rev. Fr. Chitra Kumar Rupacha, Diocesan Vicar of Birtamod Diocese, officially handed over the 50 dustbins with stands to the community group.
Mr. Gokul Rijal, Secretary of Om Shanti Tole Bikash Sastha, also spoke at the event. He emphasized the importance of unity, saying, “We belong to different faiths, castes, and backgrounds, but if we work hand in hand with each other, we can surely do great things for our community. Om Shanti Tole Bikash Sastha is grateful to the church for this gift.”
