In an effort to increase HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention, Believers Church Himachal Pradesh conducted an awareness rally in Solan on World AIDS Day, 1st December 2010.
The local authorities gladly gave permission for the rally. Believers Church office staff, Minor Seminary students and Women’s Fellowship members marched through the streets shouting slogans to raise AIDS awareness among the public. The participants wore red ribbons and caps and carried placards with catchy slogans. Starting in the morning, they marched about five kilometers.
In the evening, the church set up a film show to educate the community more in depth about AIDS. Many people in the city market learned the truth about this deadly disease and myths were dispelled.
The goal of this eventful day was to help to curb the spread of the disease, and to give correct information about it to avoid fears and myths in the community. Believers Church raises AIDS awareness annually in many places in South Asia, assuring that an increasing amount of the population is informed about the disease.
