Students of the Mumbai Minor Seminary went to a slum on Global Hand Washing Day (15th October 2012).
The team taught the children and parents that washing hands leads to a healthy life. Since many slum-dwellers live in sickness and poverty, they were happy to learn about health and hygiene.
Locals said, “It’s an encouragement for us to see a new generation of students teaching such an important lesson. We were not bothered about the seriousness of this thing before, but today onwards we’ll follow this teaching in our home.”
Housewives thanked the Minor Seminary students and asked them to visit again to teach more about how to keep their families healthy.
Believers Church taught the importance of hygiene to communities throughout South Asia on Global Hand Washing Day.
