A Women’s Fellowship team from Believers Church Gujarat Diocese involved themselves in social work to mark Independence Day celebrations on the 15th of August.
They chose a nearby slum dwelling. The people who were living there also joined in their efforts to clean inside and outside the houses.
Kanubhai who is a resident there said, “No one cares for us. We feel like nothing in society. But now Believers Church women came and showed love and care towards us.”
The team also taught the slum dwellers how to maintain good health and hygiene. They demonstrated how to wash clothes and hands before meals.
Women’s Fellowship engages in various other activities like this in order to bring a change to society throughout the year.
