On 1st December 2010, Believers Church Odisha Diocese held a rally in Brajrajnagar for the occasion of World AIDS Day. Around 500 people, consisting of staff and students from both the local Minor Seminary and Bridge of Hope project took part in this massive rally.
The participants held AIDS awareness signs, banners and slogans. A well-known doctor from Brajrajnagar, Dr. Kailash Tripathy, gave a brief speech about AIDS and its deadly spread.
The Vicar General of Odisha Diocese, Rev. Fr. Jeba, emphasized the importance of having a healthy body and soul. He encouraged the audience to heed the AIDS awareness messages and precautions in order to build a healthy nation.
To reinforce this, a street play was dramatized by a few students and staff at Bus Stand Square to illustrate the dangers of AIDS. The rally had a positive impact on the people of Brajrajnagar and the vicinity.
Believers Church organizes a number of awareness programs throughout the year in many places in South Asia. These programs include social issues including hygiene, protecting the environment and disease prevention.
