Believers Church Diocese of Gorakhpur held a social work and awareness program for a carpenter community on 2nd October 2014. Members of Women’s Fellowship and Sisters of Compassion took initiative to organize the program.
The people in this community are carpenters but their living standards are very poor. They are illiterate and not aware of maintaining hygiene for the sake of good health. So, the sisters took initiative to make them aware of the importance of maintaining their houses and surroundings clean.
The community members joined the sisters in cleaning and were so happy to see the difference that happened with their work. “Thank you so much for teaching us the importance of keeping our surroundings clean,” said Urmila, a community member.
Believers Church always works among poor and needy people in the society to empower and educate them through organizing awareness programs and vocational training programs.
