Sisters of Compassion from Believers Church Uttarakhand held a health and hygiene awareness program in a slum on 15th July 2014. Altogether 35 families attended the program.
The villagers were very poor and were living in a poor hygienic condition. So, the sisters took the initiative to start health and hygiene awareness classes. They talked to the people about the importance of hygiene in daily life and then provided them hygienic items like soap and Dettol.
Shankar, a little boy from the slum, said, “I have seven brothers and sisters. I do not have mother. She passed away long back. My father does labor work and meets our needs. Thank you for giving soap.”
Through health and hygiene awareness programs like this, Believers Church has changed the lives of many communities.
