Believers Church Lucknow Diocese inaugurated a new work by Sisters of Compassion in a leprosy colony on 26th January—World Leprosy Day. Mr. Murali Sinha (Coordinator of Lepers Union, UP) attended the program as a special guest.
This leprosy colony houses 35 families from different states such as West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha as well as Uttar Pradesh. The people here survive by keeping animals like cows and goats. Two sisters—Priyanka and Nandita—will serve the leprosy patients here, cleaning their wounds and helping with household chores that are too difficult to manage with the disease.
These Sisters of Compassion represent hundreds of women who are serving among the most neglected people in society.
