The Women’s Fellowship of Believers Church Siliguri Diocese launched its new Healthcare Project on 12th April 2013 with a seminar to train teachers. Six women came for the healthcare training. They will go from village to village teaching basic health and hygiene classes for women.
During the inauguration of the project, Bishop Emanuel Juribu said, “Still we have villages around where there are not any facilities of medical treatment. They are not getting any kind of teaching regarding their health. But Believers Church took great initiative to launch this project. I strongly believe that this project would help our illiterate mothers to know more about their health, so that they may be able to take care of their health in days to come.”
Chief guest Dr. D.K Roy spoke of how difficult and time-consuming medical work can be. “But Believers Church took it as a challenge,” he said. The doctor challenged the church to do their best for society.
Believers Church hopes to educate two million women in several countries through the Healthcare Project in the next two years.
