From 15th-21st January 2011, Believers Church Udaipur Diocese held a series of community development programs in various underprivileged communities. In total, 337 blankets, six sewing machines, two bicycles, two goats, cooking coils, a repair kit for a workshop and items for a provision shop were given freely to relieve the needy from extreme poverty.
The first event on 15th January was organized through Believers Church Chittorgarh. Mrs. Gitadevi (Congress Municipality Chairman of Chittorgarh) and Mr. Abimanu Singh (Congress Youth Minister of Chittorgarh) were present for the program. The local people and special guests appreciated the work done by Believers Church. The same evening, blankets were distributed in Bhilwara.
The next day, in Ajmer, Believers Church provided helpful items to a gypsy community. Many of the gypsies are snake catchers and live in slums. Free gifts provided hope for a better lifestyle to these poverty-stricken families. Ajmer central jail inmates also received free blankets.
In Gangapur City on 19th January, sewing machines, bicycles and blankets were distributed in the presence of Mr. Santosh Bomania (Youth Chairman of Congress). The next day, Bikaner Believers Church also gave away sewing machines and blankets. The final program of the series was held on the 21st in Jodhpur. As in other places, residents were thankful for the gifts.
Believers Church’s community development project is building communities all over India and surrounding countries. The recipients in Udaipur Diocese represent hundreds of thousands of people whose lives have been improved through the project. Individuals are deeply grateful for an opportunity to support their families and contribute positively to society.
