On 26th January 2011, Minor Seminary students and Believers Church staff and family members gathered together to commemorate India’s Republic Day at the Minor Seminary campus in Karnataka. The honored guest for the day was Mr. Prakash K. Taluk (Panchayat President of Yedapadavu).
Mr. Prakash Taluk unfurled the national flag. The national anthem was sung and the whole gathering saluted the flag. The group then prayed for the Prime Minister, Cabinet Ministers and all the other leaders of the country. They also remembered and prayed earnestly for the armed and paramilitary forces that guard our country on land, sea and air. Finally they paid homage to those who laid down their lives for the safety and security of the nation.
After this program, the staff and students went to Yedapadavu village for a service project. They were sent in various groups to all corners of the village to clean the roads and clear out garbage. One of their goals was to help the villagers understand the importance of hygienic living conditions. The staff and students were glad to take part in this service and worked tirelessly for the welfare of the village.
