Believers Church Sikkim inaugurated a water tank in a remote village on 12th November 2012.
Previously, the villagers’ only water source was located a kilometer away and did not produce enough water for their daily needs. Poverty prohibited any improvement.
A Believers Church worker noticed the need of the villagers and immediately began the process of providing a good water source through Believers Church’s clean water project. Eight months later, the village’s new water tank was complete.
Mr. Purna Bahadur (panchayat member) was the chief guest of the tank’s inauguration. Appreciating Believers Church, he pointed out the uniqueness of the church’s social action and philanthropic work. Afterward, the district supervisor encouraged the villagers to take care of the tank as their own and preserve it until further developments can be made.
Thousands of people gain access to clean water each year through the efforts of Believers Church.
