Believers Church Uttarakhand began relief work in Rudraprag district on 10th July.
Due to the floods in June, most of the surrounding villages in Rudraprag District have been destroyed and many have died. Mothers have lost their children and women their husbands. There are many families who do not have any income source now. Many have been widowed in their young age and children made orphans. The people are in deep sorrow.The main highway has been washed away and there is no electricity.
Keeping in mind those who were suffering, a relief team started their travel on the 10th of July. After a long and tiring journey due to heavy rains and rough terrain the team reached their designated place for distribution.
206 families were benefited with supplies. Each family received rice (5 kg), atta (5kg),dal (2 kgs) sugar (1 kg), salt (1 kg), oil (1L), candles (1 pkt) , matchbox and first aid kit.
Dinesh Chand said,” I never knew that this will happen to me. I had everything. I was a wealthy man but this disaster has brought me to the road. I used to give food to people but today I am begging. Thank you Believers Church for your concern.”
Vikash with tears in his eyes said, “I have lost my father and two younger brothers in this disaster. Now there is no one to look after my family. My mother is in great sorrow at home. Thank you very much for providing provision for us.”
As part of ongoing relief work Believers Church continues to distribute food and other supplies free of cost to those affected by the floods in the state of Uttarakhand.
