Believers Church Sikkim conducted a relief camp to those affected by indefinite strike on the 10th of September.
The main purpose of the camp was to help the poor and needy people who worked in tea estates and who were suffering due to indefinite strike of more than a month.
Seizing the opportunity when the strike was relaxed on the 10th, Believers Church was able to distribute basic food items. Each family received eight kg of rice, one litre oil and one kg musoor dhal. Nearly 68 families benefited from this relief work.
Mr. Naren Thapa (village president) was invited as the chief guest for the event. He appreciated the work of Believers Church and said that the distribution of rations during this time is a remarkable job which is very helpful to the people.
This is just one example of how Believers Church responds to uncontrollable circumstances with practical help and supplies.
