As part of its humanitarian efforts, Believers Church Diocese of Pokhara held a relief supply distribution in Banke District on 29th August 2017 to help families displaced by devastating floods.
Banke is one of the worst-hit districts, where floods and inundation affected around 9,500 families and destroyed infrastructure worth more than Rs. 1 billion. Many lost their houses and belongings and were forced to take shelter in makeshift homes.
Responding to their plight, the diocese reached out to 18 families that were in dire needs and provided them with dry rations and tarpaulins to put up makeshift homes. Bishop Gopal Chhetri handed out the relief items consisting 270 kg of rice, 300 kg of lentils and 20 tarpaulins among the affected families.
