On 8th March 2011, Believers Church Colombo Diocese continued its ongoing relief efforts in flood-battered Sri Lanka. A relief team distributed 250 dry ration packets among the flood victims in Ambalanthurai, Batticaloa district. Each ration packet contained rice, dal, sugar, flour, dry fish and soya meat.
The team then traveled from Ambalanthurai to a place called Kaluwanchikudy in the same district. There they visited the Kaluwanchikudy Rural Fishermen Cooperative Society and freely distributed 150 dry ration packets to fishermen of various backgrounds who suffered loss in the floods.
After, the team traveled from Batticaloa to Pollonnaruwa district to offer relief to more needy communities.
This is just one of many efforts to bring relief to communities in Sri Lanka. In the last couple months, Believers Church has been a key supplier of aid in the wake of the devastating Sri Lankan flood.
