Believers Church Ranchi Diocese observed the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3rd December by providing eight tricycles, 40 bicycles and 21 sewing machines to people in need. Around 450 people attended the distribution. Shri Champai Soren (Minister of Welfare, Transport and Industry in Jharkhand) was the chief guest and Shri Paulus Surin (MLA) was the guest of honor.
Shri Champai Soren lauded the since and strenuous efforts of Believers Church in reaching out to those with disabilities and for demonstrating God’s love and humanitarian services for the society at large. He was moved by the cultural presentation from local Bridge of Hope children and said that if the church was not there in Jharkhand, the tribal people would still be in darkness. He appreciated Metropolitan Dr. K.P. Yohannan and his passion for the people of
Jharkhand.
Shri Paulus Surin also expressed appreciation for what Believers Church was doing in society, saying that the church’s contribution toward the holistic development of the tribal people could not be ignored.
In his address, Rev. Fr. Isaac explained, “Believers Church is committed to love and help humanity regardless of their religion, caste and creed.”
This program to benefit the disabled is just one example of how Believers Church reaches out to the most neglected people in society.
