Believers Church Diocese of Hyderabad observed World Environment Day on 5th June 2016.
On this special occasion, Bridge of Hope planted 1,800 saplings and distributed over 2,000 saplings to people. Village heads, school head masters and other dignitaries were invited as chief guests for the programs held in several places in commemoration of this day.
During the program, the staff of Bridge of Hope explained to audience about the importance of the day and how they together can play an important role in protecting the environment by planting trees and nurturing them.
After this public meeting, the Bridge of Hope staff and children took out rallies raising slogans and displaying posters regarding environmental protection. In main street junctions they spoke to the gathered crowd about different environmental issues such as pollution, waste management, restoring the forests and more. They encouraged the general public to work for protecting the environment and keeping it clean for the sake of future generations.
They then participated in plantation drives to make their surrounding green. They also distributed saplings to people in nearby locations and encouraged them to plant them. They planted and distributed saplings of Bamboo, Guava, Mango, Margosa, and Babool in different places. Many of the children’s parents also came and joined in the tree plantation drive.
