Believers Church Nagpur Diocese conducted a number of Blindness Control Programs on 8th March 2011. Rallies and programs were organized both through the local Minor Seminary and through two Bridge of Hope centers. The Minor Seminary students and staff held a mass rally that went through the villages of Yerla and Gohni.
The participants distributed free pamphlets containing valuable health tips. After the rally, students and staff went door to door freely distributing Vitamin A and Albendazole tablets to guard vulnerable children and villagers from blindness and disease.
The Minor Seminary also organized distribution programs in the government schools in Gohni. More than 1,000 vitamin A tablets and 1,000 Albendazole tablets were distributed.
The many people who benefited from this program appreciated Believers Church for helping prevent blindness and infections.
Elsewhere in the diocese, the children of two Bridge of Hope Centers gathered at their respective centers for similar Blindness Control Programs. From morning to evening, the children were involved in a mass rally to raise health awareness. They also made public booths to help fulfill their goal.
The Bridge of Hope children considered this day as an opportunity to help the villages they lived in.
In one center alone, Bridge of Hope distributed over 1,500 vitamin A tablets and 1,500 Albendazole tablets.
Health awareness is a necessity that cannot be neglected. Many villagers throughout Asia suffer due to a lack of basic information about health. Believers Church is working to remedy this problem, not only in Nagpur, but throughout Asia.
