The Women’s Fellowship team of Believers Church Jorhat Diocese presented a BioSand water filter to a primary school on World Water Day, 22nd March 2014.
Most of the students of this particular school belong to poor families and their parents work in tea gardens. They face severe water problems and depend mostly on the nearby pond where the water is contaminated with iron. This unfiltered, unsafe water exposes them to all types of water-related diseases.
Mr. Jiten Gogoi (head master of the school) expressed his gratitude and said, “For many years our children were drinking unsafe water directly from pond, but now they will have safe drinking water through BioSand water filter.”
This is just one of many places where Believers Church provided pure water on World Water Day. The church reaches thousands of people through its clean water project and changes their understanding about pure water.
