Poor Community Receives Roofing Sheets and Blankets from Tezpur Diocese

Believers Church Tezpur Diocese organized a program to distribute tin roofing sheets to 296 poor families on 18th December. Around 1,000 people gathered for the occasion. Mr. Abinash Basumatary (panchayat president) was chief guest.

The recipients were very grateful for the gifts. Asaru says, “I am from a poor family and staying in a thatched house with my family. When it rains heavily the water drops in our bed. And I was also worried because the thatch is getting damaged and winter is coming and in very cold days the dew will fall inside the house. I am very grateful to receive tin sheets for our family.”

Another beneficiary, Rahila says, “My age is now eighty years; it is too much difficult for me to survive in winter season because of cold climate; my son has family and two children, and to maintain the family he has to go labor work. The payment of his labor is very less. Due to this reason he can’t buy a blanket for me. But today the Believers Church has given me this blanket by knowing my crisis.”

Believers Church provides hundreds of poor communities with basic necessities like this.
