In March 2011, a Women’s Day celebration was conducted in Patna Diocese by the Women’s Fellowship in three places—Vaisali District, Katihar District and Kishanganj District. A total of 600 women participated in these programs.
The programs focused on helping women understand their importance and value at home and in the community. Rev. Fr. Isaac (Minor Seminary Principal), Sunita (Patna Women’s Fellowship Leader) and Fuljencia (Women’s Fellowship Secretary) took part in the Mallikpur program.
The first session was led by Rev. Fr. Isaac, who spoke about women’s role in family and society. In the second session, Sunita shared about the characteristics of a noble woman. All the participants gave their full attention to grasp the practical teachings.
After the sessions, the Women’s Fellowship team gave away books to the women who gathered. The books discussed issues today’s women face, such as divorce, suicide and family problems.
Additionally, Believers Church distributed hundreds of free vitamins to the women.
The response to the women’s event was overwhelming. The participants said that through this program, they realized their significant role in building and shaping their families, society and nation.
They are joining the ranks of thousands of women in South Asia who are learning to reach their potential and contribute positively to their communities. Believers Church is playing a vital role in this empowerment of women.
