In celebration of the 73rd Republic Day of India, a local parish in Believes Eastern Church Diocese of Uttarakhand distributed 100 food packets among the poor and needy.
This parish is located in a small town in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh. This is an industrial area where people from all over the country come in search of jobs in factories.
On the morning of 26th January, the priest and members of the parish came together to prepare meals for the distribution. The parish youth also volunteered to pack and distribute the food packets. They went and distributed food packets among the poor and destitute at bus stands, malls, and highways.
The recipients were very happy to receive the food, especially during this time of pandemic. Manoj, one of the persons who received a food packet said, “Thanks a lot for thinking about the needs of poor people like us and bringing food for us”.
